simply timeless

:: It is early August. Now is the time when Summer seems to reach it's most stressful point in my little rhythm. Now is the time that I begin to look ahead to Fall and what comes with it. Looming ahead I see the 12th grade, an intimidating orchestra audition, a still unfinished math textbook from last year, the books I want to read before school begins, the projects I want to finish before the Summer ends ... and the list goes on.

And yet, for as stressed and overwhelmed as I have been feeling as of late, this morning, the simplest of little visits provided a gentle reminder and inspiration that seemed to free me of all of my worries in a moment. God is good. :) My dear older sister cares for this little munchkin in the pink dress over the summer, and today, they stopped by my house to say "hello!", water a few flowers, have a snack, and see some chickens.

There is something in the nature of a child that is essential yet so often forgotten as the years go by. As I played with this little girl today, I was struck by her joyful abandon in every moment. It seems that Little Munchkins are always quite content to take one moment at a time. They treasure each present moment with delightful eagerness, and when it has passed, they free it gently so as to focus their eyes, their mind, their heart on the next. The past and future were forgotten in the bliss of the present.

Timelessness . . . this was little Munchkin's melody, and I pray that God may give me the grace to once again make it mine. ::

God Bless you and Happy August!

“If I did not simply live from one moment to another, it would be impossible for me to be patient, but I only look at the present, I forget the past, and I take good care not to forestall the future.”
