:: For as long as I can remember I have had this knack for looking ahead to the "next exciting thing". I used to count the days from my birthday to Thanksgiving to Christmas to the Epiphany ... However, over the years I have learned how silly it is to let one's joy and/or motivation rely on something in the future. The words of the Little Flower which were my inspiration for the theme of this blog, really hit the nail on the head for me. "Oh! how I love Thee, Jesus! my soul aspires to Thee – And yet for one day only my simple prayer I pray! Come reign within my heart, smile tenderly on me ... today, dear Lord, today ...” To take one moment at a time ... loving the Lord in it as much as the heart will allow, being exceedingly joyful, trusting unconditionally, hoping without reserve ... just for the moment. I have come to realize that if I am striving for holiness, for sanctity, it will be through the attempt in each moment alone that I can reach it - to be a saint one moment at a time. Christ is not calling all hearts to holiness tomorrow; Christ is calling them to holiness here and now, in this very moment.

I would not call this blog a journal, or a newsletter. Perhaps it would be simplest to refer to it's contents as musings. If each moment of our life is one of joyful striving for Christ, and if each moment of our life makes up a song, what a happy song that will be! My hope is to impart the little blessings that Christ fills my days with by painting with pictures and words the song of my day.

I pray that Christ will bless you through the words of this blog ... enjoy! ::
