:: The summer days always seem to be at their merriest in the month of July. This is a month made up of happy days filled with rising temperatures and fireworks, frosty lemonade, cookouts, backyard baseball games, warm evening walks, and many hues of red and white and blue. . .  every moment creates a cheery warmth that penetrates July's atmosphere. It is a warmth not only of the air, but a warmth also of the heart. The sun is pleasant, the heart is light, spirits are high, and laughter a common melody. This, for me, is the aura of July.

What a beautiful devotion our Catholic Tradition sets before us in this month. July is a month devoted to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus.

"Here we are at the feast of the divine Blood ... let us love Jesus incessantly, irrevocably, so that we can love him eternally in paradise. To look at Jesus as he pours out his Blood is an act of religion which helps us do great work for our own eternal salvation as well as that of our neighbors...  "
{St. Gaspar}

It is in the month of July especially that I am so beautifully reminded of the inexhaustible warmth of our Lord's mercy and love. I believe that He calls each soul individually to Himself and longs to pour out His infinite mercy and love on them. It is this month, in the sunny days of July, that the Church encourages Her children in the knowledge of and devotion to His boundless mercy. A mercy that is poured out as His Precious Blood flowed from His pierced side at Calvary.

 “Precious Blood, Ocean of Divine Mercy, flow upon us!
 Precious Blood, Most Pure offering, procure us every grace!
Precious Blood, Hope and refuge of sinners, atone for us!
Precious Blood, Delight of the Holy Souls, draw us!"
{St. Catherine of Siena}

A blessed month of July to you! ::
