and november begins

:: This beautiful November day found us strolling through a nearby trail, enjoying each other, the leftover Fall colors, and an occasional cookie or two. Autumn's chilly breath and sunshine smile made the perfect atmosphere in which to reflect...to pray...to love. It was a happy day and a great beginning to a new week and a new month. 

November 1st is the Solemnity of all the saints. I was profoundly reminded today of each person's individual vocation to holiness and to sanctity. In one of my favorite quotes, Mother Theresa says, "Holiness is not the luxury of the few; it is a simple duty for you and for me. We have been created for that." Powerful words, aren't they? They leave me so encouraged, despite the fact of how often my weaknesses cause me to fail as I try to walk this path, seeking holiness. But Christ's mercy is infinite, and each fall is but a chance to rise again, relying on His love. And so, holding this call to holiness in my heart, strengthened by the intercession and example of the Saints before me, I'll take a breath...
