starting small - day 5: reluctant summer
June 1st, 2017 - This is the fifth day of a 40 day blogging challenge: some pictures and words each day. Come back tomorrow to see more posts!

I ventured out one cloudy afternoon, camera in hand. It took me about a minute to decide that this was a photo shoot that could not be executed without a windbreaker.
Summer is slow in coming for Wisconsin.
And today is June. Can you even believe it? I can't. I'm sure Summer will show her face eventually, but she seems reluctant this year. Every bit of nature seems caught in a sleepy daze. The sun only peaks out every once and a while, the seedlings are just now peaking out of the topsoil, and the buds on fruit trees are still small and delicate. Not all hope is lost of course ... the birds sing all day! And at night the spring peepers chorus for an hour or two. These are sure signs that any day now...
But until that day comes, I'll be keeping flannel shirts and wool socks on hand.
Cheers!
