It has been a lovely week. We arrived in the Peninsula and were greeted by sunny skies and balmy weather. The lake was cool and inviting, the kayaks were ready to be used. At night, it rained. Books were read and hand-lettering was practiced. We discovered and explored a hidden county park, bordering Lake Michigan along breathless cliffs. The woods were green and fresh. Wrens eggs were hidden in the safety of a prairie bluebird house. We visited cute lakeside towns. We bonded over good food and lots of tea. We ate ice-cream and licorice shoestrings. We sought after sunsets, and watched the sun sink beneath a watery horizon. The Andy Griffith show played in the evenings as the rain sprinkled down out of the night sky.

It has been a good week. Refreshed, we return home and anticipate next year's visit.
